Riva design and develop a static corporate websites, transactional e-commerce sites and we also design and develop Internet and Intranet applications. These applications tend to differ from a static website in that they invariably provide complex and dynamic functionality and content and often integration with a back-end database or other internal or external business system.
Riva since inception have specialised in the development of specialist bespoke applications, generally written using open standards and with a web browser client interface.
We have considerable technical skills using languages such as Java, Perl and PHP, Javascript and HTML and using relational databases including MySQL, Oracle and DB2.
We have the business acumen and experience to be able to understand complex business processes and to be able to design solutions to meet the most exacting requirements, and we have the ability to manage the project from inception to delivery and thereafter.

The development of a Customer Information Portal for use by the telesales, field sales and customer services departments in prospecting for new business and maintaining existing business relationships. The system was developed using the Agile development methodology, it uses a SOA architecture with Web Services to integrate the portal with a back-end Oracle database and SAP. The portal consists of a number of custom portlets developed using Java and Java Server Faces to deliver business functionality and information to internal and users via a browser and an iPhone interface.
The development a new Sheep and Goats Ear tagging system for DEFRA the Department of Environment Farming and Rural Affairs, to enable the UK to comply with EU Legislation to improve the traceability of animals that are reared and sold for slauter. We migrated and enhanced an existing Sheep and Goats Ear tagging system to the latest Websphere Portal platform and significantly enhanced the application to provide additional functionality to meet the EU standards.
The development of a Service Delivery Portal for the Welsh Government Assembly, to provide a single communications and information point for public services, from local government to health, education and emergency services throughout Wales. Based around WebSphere Portal with integration into existing and new back-end systems using web services the application makes use of custom portlets and Web Content Management to deliver information to a large number of users throughout Wales.
